Bulldogs Take Down Undefeated Greyhounds

On Saturday the boys basketball team travelled to Carmel for a non-conference game with the Greyhounds.  The weather left the gym a little empty but the fans who attended received a heck of a game from the undefeated Carmel team and the surging Bulldogs from Brownsburg.  Carmel jumped out to an 18-11 first quarter lead and seemed to take control of the contest.  Brownsburg battled back in the second quarter and held the host team to 6 points and trimmed the Greyhound lead to 4 at halftime.  Brownsburg continued to cut into the lead starting the third quarter.  Tying the game at 34 points, Brownsburg appeared to be taking control of the contest.  Carmel finished with a flurry of 3 point shots to reclaim a 6 point advantage going into the fourth quarter.  Behind the senior duo of Cameron Alford and Reis Thomas who scored 22 of the teams 32 second half points, Brownsburg made a fantastic push to finish the game.  Trailing with minutes remaining the Bulldogs hit shots, made great defensive plays and with seconds remaining Alford stole a Carmel pass and scored with seconds left to secure a Brownsburg 52-50 victory over the undefeated Greyhounds.  It was a complete team victory as every player made great contributions and contributed timely plays to push the team to the successful ending.  The team had five different players contribute to nine 3 point field goals and the team held Carmel to single digit scoring in the 2ndand 4th quarters to make the evening a great team win.
