Sharp Shooting Helps Bulldogs Earn W at Westfield

Brownsburg travelled to Westfield for a big conference game vs the Shamrocks Friday evening.  After playing a couple of tough defensive battles against county rival Avon and HCC foe Fishers, the Bulldogs were hoping for a breakout game offensively.  The Dogs opened up with 27 point first quarter and lead 40-19 at halftime.  They team created opportunities out of a tough defense and had their transition game working well getting several easy scores before Westfield could set their defense.  In the half court, Brownsburg was able to replicate their practices in executing for good looks and making most of their opportunities.  The Bulldogs saw several players get extensive minutes in the second half and finished off a 65-49 victory over the Shamrocks to move to 4-0 in conference play.  Cameron Alford exploded for 18 points in the first quarter and finished with 23 points and 3 assists.  Pierce Thomas put on a push for the triple double and finished with 6 points 9 rebounds and 8 assists while guarding one of Westfield's best scorers.  Malek Edmonds poured in 11 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists.  Reid Thomas tallied 4 rebounds and 5 assists as the Brownsburg offense continues to improve with very unselfish play. Ryan Wiggins (6pts) Gunnar Reffeitt(5 pts) Connor Lucas (7 pts) and Richard Lang (4pts) all made the most of their playing opportunity with great contributions.

Brownsburg will play Carmel Saturday evening, weather permitting, at Carmel in a battle of state ranked teams.
