Boys Hoops Picks up HCC Win over Fishers

On Friday Brownsburg hosted Fishers in a battle of undefeated conference teams.  Brownsburg jumped out to a quick lead but struggled to score consistently, only leading the Tigers 9-4 after a quarter of play.  Extending their lead early in the second quarter, the Bulldogs held Fishes to only 14 first half points but could only manage to tally 17 themselves.  It was turning into a defensive slug fest as both teams were tied at 25 entering the fourth quarter.  Brownsburg was finally able to lift the lid off their goal and explode for 20 points in the fourth quarter while holding the tigers scoreless for more than 4 minutes to start the quarter and took home a hard earned 45-36 victory to remain undefeated in conference play.  Many standout plays were contributed by the Bulldogs.  Malek Edmonds and Richard Lang played very solid defense in the middle while Cameron Alford, Pierce Thomas and Jakobi McGowan lead the team in rebounding.  Pierce Thomas passed out a game high 8 assists and collected 2 steals.  Alford and Edmonds tallied 11 points a piece, while Reis Thomas added 10 points and Pierce Thomas chipped in 8 points.  The team was 17-21 from the foul line and turned in another outstanding defensive performance when they needed it.  The Bulldogs will travel to Westfield Friday for another HCC contest.
