Boys Basketball Beats FW Snider

Boys Basketball Beats FW Snider

Brownsburg ended semester exams with one more test at the Marion High School Showcase event against an undefeated Fort Wayne Snider team.  With both teams coming off of final exams and a long bus trip to play, the first quarter was a little sloppy before the Bulldogs settled in and scored 6 straight points.  Malek Edmonds and Cameron Alford scored 6 points each as the Bulldogs gained a 14-9 advantage at the quarter break.  Brownsburg hit a great stride in the second quarter, scoring 27 points on Reis Thomas's hot shooting.  The senior hit 3 - three point field goals and was 4 for 5 from long distance on the evening. The team hit 5 field goals from long distance in the quarter and held a commanding 41-21 advantage at halftime.  The team continued to play unselfish basketball as Alford and Pierce Thomas both dished out 4 assists each.  Brownsburg's defense was again locked in as the high scoring Snider team was held to 21 points below their season average. Reis Thomas, Luke Lacey & Jakobi McGowan did a great job locking in on Snider's two leading scorers.  The team only had seven turnovers and had 8 players play without committing an error for the evening.  Reis Thomas(18, Alford(16) & Malek Edmonds(13 lead the team in scoring while Pierce Thomas had another all around game contributing 6 pts, 4 ast, 3 reb & 2 steals.  Ryan Wiggins, Richard Lang, Gunnar Reffeitt, and Cameron Alford all collected 3 or more rebounds. The team shot 50% from the field and 40% from the 3 pt line. Brownsburg also welcomed senior Jason Meeks to the hardwood after an absence due to injury.  He promptly dove on the floor collecting a loose ball and assist to notch the stat column.  For the evening, all 13 Bulldogs logged minutes and were able to create a positive stat in the score sheet.  The boys basketball team wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  Next games will be at Southport then the Hendricks County Tournament.
