Boys Basketball Falls to Crispus Attucks

The Brownsburg Basketball team travelled to historic Indianapolis Attucks High School Saturday for a battle of state ranked programs.  Fresh off big victories on Wednesday evening, Saturday's competition proved to be as good as hyped.  The host Tigers scratched out a 13-12 lead after the first quarter with Brownsburg getting production from 4 different players.  Brownsburg rallied to take a 3 point lead midway through the second quarter only to see the host tie it at 29 at halftime.  The play was fierce if not always pretty but Brownsburg played inspired through the third quarter to claim a 1 point lead after three quarters 39-38.  Attucks scored on back to back possessions to start the 4th quarter to claim a three point lead.  Brownsburg would rally multiple times but free throw inconsistencies and critical turnovers kept the Bulldogs from claiming their second victory of the season.  The team again was well represented in great efforts from several team members, it was a game with too many mistakes and a great opportunity to learn for playing excellent competition.  Malek Edmonds led the Bulldogs with 17 points and 8 rebounds.  Pierce Thomas had another well rounded game with 13 points and several rebounds and assists.  Luke Lacey notched 4 assists and 0 turnovers.  Cameron Alford chipped in 10 points and 3 assists.  Ryan Wiggins continued to display a great inside/outside presence with 7 points.  The team will be back in action next Friday as they open HCC play vs Franklin Central.
