Bulldogs Score 51-47 Win Over Giants

For only the second time in the history of BHS the boys' basketball team defeated Ben Davis at BD 51-47.  The Dogs held the Giants to 22 points below their offensive average, but also used some clutch shooting to finish the game.

Jaraan Lands was perfect from the field in the first half scoring 10 of the Dogs' 21 points.  Darayl Jordan, Chase Dutra, and Jordan Reagan dropped in buckets as well, and the Dogs went into the break down 22-21.

Mycah Whetstone heated up in the third quarter as he knocked down three three-pointers, Lands pounded home six more points, and Jordan connected on a bucket.

With a 38-32 lead at the quarter the Giants outscored the Dogs 12-5 to take a 44-43 lead in the fourth.  Kyle Thompson then came up with a steal with 1:35 left and Whetstone knocked down a three from a Lands' dish for a 46-44 lead.  The Giants worked the ball and drilled their own shot from deep to regain the lead at 47-46.

On the ensuing play, Dutra drove the paint and dished again to the hot handed Whetstone who sank another trifecta to put the Dogs up 49-47 with 16 seconds left.

Whetstone came up with a steal and a layup to put the final dagger in the Giants, and ended the night with 19 points all coming in the second half including the Dogs' last eight.

Lands added 16.  Jordan added six points.  Reagan played through sickness scoring five points.  Dutra ended the night with a career high seven assists.

The Dogs advance to 3-5 on the season.
