Bulldogs Defeat Quakers 58-52

On Saturday, the Dogs faced the first double weekend of the year and traveled to Plainfield where they defeated the Quakers 58-52.

The Dogs put together the best three quarters of basketball they have played all year.  Kenyatta Hardy played tenacious defense on the Quaker's leading scorer out of the gate.  He, Jordan Reagan, and focused team defense held the Plainfield leader to eight points under his average.

In the meantime, Jaraan Lands attacked the basket for four points and knocked down a trifecta for seven first quarter points.  Darayl Jordan pounded in a post move, and Taylor Shields knocked down a three in the first period and dished out two assists for the game.

The Dogs struggled with the basketball in the second stanza and went to the locker room down nine points 20-29.

The Dogs' intensity improved in the third as they took care of the ball and began executing.  Mycah Whetstone dropped in six points on two threes; Lands added five and Jordan a deuce.

The Dogs completed their comeback in the second half outscoring the Quakers 38-23 in the final two periods, thanks to a 25-11 fourth quarter.  Jordan blocked three key shots in the fourth period to go along with ten points for the game and six rebounds.

Chase Dutra streaked the court for six points off of Plainfield turnovers, dished out four assists, and grabbed five rebounds for the game.  Whetstone drilled home two more deep balls for 14 points for the game.  Reagan dished out five assists.  Lands added nine of his game high 25 points in the final period to go along with eight rebounds.
