Bulldogs Win on Homecoming

Bulldogs Win on Homecoming

Homecoming at Roark Stadium on Friday certainly was exciting, with your 6A #2 ranked Bulldogs hanging on for a 30-28 nail-biter win over Westfield in front of a packed house.  While the Bulldogs did not feel they played their best football, the good news was that they pulled out the victory!

On offense, it was Senior Bryce Kirtz with what may have been the best game of his illustrious career.  In the first half, he caught a perfectly placed pass from QB Ben Easters and then outraced 4 Shamrock defenders on his way to an 84 yard touchdown!  At halftime, he won the title of Homecoming King, and then continued his dominance with another long TD grab over a defender, then broke 2 tackles on the way to the end zone.  Bryce ended up with 9 catches for 252 yards and 2 TDs.  Donnie Marcus scored the other 2 TDs while Clay Chase added another field goal on his great season so far.

On defense, the Bulldogs did not have their normal dominating performance but were able to get just enough stops to get the victory.  Tyrone Griffin played a terrific game from his linebacker spot, while cornerback CJ Tanner was excellent all game including an impressive interception.

Your undefeated and #2 ranked Bulldogs look to continue their special season next Friday night at Zionsville.  The team would love to see the amazing fans make the short trip to cheer on the team against the Eagles!  The team continues their march to a Hoosier Crossroads Conference Championship, and would love to have all the fans be a part of that!
