Football Beats Avon

Football Beats Avon

It was a wet Friday night at Roark stadium, but the rain did not slow down your #3 ranked Brownsburg Bulldogs as they defeated the #2 ranked Avon Orioles 21-7!

The Bulldog defense stymied the visiting Orioles, holding them to 7 points. Not only that, but the defense scored 7 points of their own, as Senior Lawson Aiken stripped the Avon running back of the football, and Senior Jacob Birkofer scooped the ball up and scored a 12 yard TD!  The entire defensive line of Aiken, Dane Middlebrook, Dorian Keys, and Cody Edmonds had a great night against the Avon offensive line. The entire defense was outstanding, and this was by far the performance of the year so far!

On offense, once again running back Donnie Marcus shouldered the load during the terrible weather, as he carried the ball 31 times for 112 yards and a touchdown.  While throwing the ball was difficult, quarterback Ben Easters was able to be successful when it mattered as he made critical completions to WRs Luke Lacey and Bryce Kirtz on the decisive final drive, before finally completing a back-breaking touchdown to Jared Huges for the final score.

Please come support your soon-to-be second ranked team in the state, as the Dogs travel to Fishers to battle the always-tough Tigers.  The Dogs have their sights set on a Hoosier Crossroads Conference title, and the fans help in avoiding a letdown after a huge victory is welcome!
