Bulldogs Pick up HCC Road Win at Franklin Central

The Bulldogs provided Hoosier Crossroads Conference newcomer Franklin Central with a rude welcome to the conference, defeating the Flashes 37-7 on their home field.

The defense was stifling all night, limiting the Flashes to a paltry 7 points that were scored late in the game.  Senior Lawson Aiken forced a fumble with a sack, which was recovered by Junior Dorian Keys.  Junior CJ Tanner also had a number of pass breakups, and the entire defensive team played inspired football, led by our linebackers Cade Shuperd and Jacob Birkofer.  Finally, senior defensive end Cody Edmonds played a terrific game as well.

The offense was once again led by Senior Bryce Kirtz as a "do-everything" WR as he ran, caught, and even threw the ball.  He had a 47 yard TD reception as well as throwing a beautiful 34 yard TD to fellow Senior Devin Robinson.  Donnie Marcus was absolutely unstoppable, rushing for over 200 yards and a 2 TDs.  Junior Jared Hughes also had a TD reception.  Clay Chase was terrific with his kicking duties making a 41 yard FG and all his extra points.

This is a HUGE week where the entire state will have their eyes on Roark Stadium, as two of the top program in the state take the field Friday night as the Orioles from Avon come to visit.  This game is what Friday Night Lights are all about, so please come support your Bulldogs in this fantastic rivalry game!!
