Bulldogs Beat Irish in Home-Opener

Bulldogs Beat Irish in Home-Opener

Friday night saw another fantastic night of high school football at Roark Stadium, as your Bulldogs defeated Cathedral 37-26 in front of a packed house on "Red Out For Riley" night!  This was a game filled with wild momentum swings, but the hard work, dedication, and drive by everyone on the Dogs got them the hard-fought and thrilling victory against a great opponent. Offensively, senior Reis Thomas was unstoppable, as he caught 3 TDs from sophomore QB Ben Easters.   Easters also tossed a crucial late TD to senior Bryce Kirtz to put your Bulldogs in the driver's seat to win the game.  Junior running back Donnie Marcus ran the ball like a man possessed, grinding out over 150 yards rushing on 32 carries!  He was running over, through, and around people all night long. Junior kicker Clay Chase was HUGE in this game hitting 3 for 3 on field goals, was perfect on extra points, and put multiple kicks in the end zone for touchbacks  His last field goal was a tremendous 48 yard kick that sealed the game up for your Dogs! The defense was swarming most of the night, with senior Lawson Aiken consistently harassing the QB and recording a sack and tackles for loss, in addition to recovering a fumble. Junior DB Jakobi McGowan was all over the field making plays and getting the defense in the right spots!

Please continue to support your Bulldogs by travelling to the southeast side of Indianapolis, as the Dogs battle new opponent Franklin Central.  The team looks forward to another hard fought game.  Thanks fans for your support through 2 games, it has been phenomenal!
